100% Ceremonial Cacao – KAICAO 200g
Product detailed description
KAICAO 100% ceremonial cacao is a single-ingredient cacao powder made from beans grown on one Ecuadorian estate, Hacienda Limón. You whisk it into hot water or plant milk and drink it as a thick, unsweetened cup: in the morning instead of coffee, in the afternoon as a break between two blocks of work, or in the evening when you want to sit down and stop rushing.
The beans come from a single farm, not from an anonymous blend sourced across half the world. After harvest they are lightly roasted, stone-ground for two days and then matured for two months. It is a slow process and you can taste it: the cacao is earthy and deep, with a soft floral note and a long finish that ordinary defatted cocoa powder never delivers.
The powder is full-fat, so the cocoa butter stays where it belongs. That is what makes the drink thick, creamy and genuinely filling. Nothing is sweetened, there are no flavourings and no fillers. One ingredient in the bag, and you know exactly where it came from. Be ready for the taste: cacao at 100 % with no sugar is properly bitter, and the first few cups take some getting used to before you stop reaching for the honey. The 200 g pack makes 10 servings of 20 g.

KAICAO: stone-ground ceremonial cacao
KAICAO is the brand of Madrid chocolatier Ida Talmore, who works bean-to-bar: from choosing the beans on a specific plantation to the finished product in one workshop. KAICAO ceremonial cacao is a full-fat cacao powder made from lightly roasted beans that are stone-ground for two days and then aged for two months. The result is earthy with a light floral note, and it is prepared as a thick hot drink rather than the sweet cocoa of childhood.
The beans come from a single Ecuadorian plantation, Hacienda Limón; the MEXICAN variety uses washed Lavado beans from Tabasco in Mexico. Nothing is sweetened with sugar and no emulsifiers or lecithin are added.
At BJP Store you will find
- 100% ceremonial cacao – pure, single-ingredient, 200 g for ten servings.
- MEXICAN – 96% cacao with two kinds of chilli, cinnamon, star anise and cloves in the style of Mesoamerican xocoatl.
- FOCUS and MINDFULNESS – 92% cacao with lion's mane and cordyceps, or with reishi, ashwagandha and spices.
