Choosing BCAA
Amino acid ratios, serving contents and how the Energy version differs from a regular mix.
How do BCAA differ from EAA and protein?
BCAA contain three amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine. They are essential amino acids also found in broader EAA blends and complete proteins. BCAA alone do not supply all the essential amino acids. If you already get enough high-quality protein from food or protein powder, extra BCAA are not automatically necessary.
What does a 2:1:1 ratio mean, and how much BCAA is in a scoop?
A 2:1:1 ratio means two parts leucine to one part isoleucine and one part valine. It does not tell you the total grams of BCAA. BCAA + Energy Cola provides 7 g of BCAA in a 13 g serving of powder. The rest consists of other ingredients. When comparing products, check both the ratio and the amount of BCAA per serving.
Is Energy Cola just a different flavour of regular BCAA?
No. BCAA + Energy Cola also contains caffeine: 100 mg per 13 g serving. BCAA+ strawberry and kiwi does not list caffeine in its ingredients. With the Energy version, also count caffeine from coffee, energy drinks or pre-workout blends. Its product warning states that it is not suitable for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or people sensitive to caffeine.
Are both versions mixed in the same way?
No. BCAA+ strawberry and kiwi uses 13 g of powder with 500 ml of water; Energy Cola uses 13 g with 300 ml. Both products specify one serving daily. Their ingredients also differ: strawberry and kiwi includes inulin and soy lecithin. Follow the instructions for your chosen version; adding more water does not reduce the total ingredients consumed if you drink the whole mixture.
To supplement your usual protein intake, also compare protein powders. Send ingredient questions to info@bjp-store.cz.
