What each product actually provides and what to check before combining products.
Does every energiser contain caffeine?
No. This category includes Puhdistamo Energy Boost, which has no caffeine in its ingredients, and Puhdistamo Pre-Workout Caffeine Free, alongside caffeine shots and capsules. Neither the category name nor the word ‘energy’ defines the formula. Before buying, open the ingredients and directions for the specific product and identify the ingredient you actually want.
What is the difference between an energy gel and a shot?
A 40 g PULS Energy Gel provides 24.2 g of carbohydrates and 97 kcal. Its caffeine version also contains 50 mg of caffeine. In contrast, a 60 ml PULS Energy Shot Tropical contains 200 mg of caffeine and just 5 kcal. The shot does not replace the carbohydrates in the gel; track these figures separately when planning fuel for exercise.
Is natural caffeine automatically gentler?
‘Natural’ does not guarantee a weaker effect or less impact on sleep. A bottle of PULS Energy Shot+ contains 160 mg of natural caffeine, which still counts towards your total intake. L-theanine in another blend does not remove caffeine either. Choose according to caffeine content, the full formula and your tolerance, rather than just the source of an extract.
Can I combine an energiser, a pre-workout and coffee?
First check every product’s ingredients and warnings. Caffeine from coffee, gels, shots and pre-workouts adds up, and some labels explicitly prohibit combining the product with other caffeine sources. Blends also involve more than caffeine: ECA, for example, contains bitter orange and white willow extracts. It is therefore not interchangeable with pure caffeine.
