When should I choose a jacket, vest or MONOLITH shirt?
A jacket covers your torso and arms; a vest leaves the sleeves of your base layer exposed. BJP Core and Venum Attack Urban Gi are winter jackets. The Venum Urban Guard and sleeveless Attack Urban Gi can be layered over a T-shirt or hoodie.
The MONOLITH shirt is made from 100% cotton at 360 g/m². You can wear it open over a T-shirt, but it does not replace an insulated winter jacket. Fabric weight alone does not give a garment a temperature rating.
Does a water-repellent finish mean a jacket is waterproof?
No. The DWR finish on BJP Core helps water bead and run off the fabric surface. Venum Attack Urban Gi is described as water resistant. Neither statement alone confirms a waterproof membrane or protection during prolonged rain.
If persistent rain is your main concern, look for an explicit waterproof specification and information about seam construction. Insulation and water protection are separate properties.
How do I choose a size with room for a hoodie underneath?
Try it on over the layer you will actually wear. Zip the jacket fully, reach forwards, sit down and raise your arms. There should be no strain pulling across the chest zip, and the shoulders should allow movement.
For a vest, check the armholes too: they should neither dig in nor leave excessive gaps. If a chart gives garment width, compare it with a well-fitting jacket laid flat. Do not treat that width as body circumference or automatically go up a full size.
Which practical details differ between models?
BJP Core has zipped side pockets, a zipped inner chest pocket and internal shoulder straps. The straps let you carry the unzipped jacket on your back after taking your arms out when you go indoors. Venum Attack Urban Gi and Urban Guard have zipped side pockets.
The MONOLITH shirt has two chest pockets and press-stud fastening. Do not assume other models have an inner pocket or carrying straps unless the product detail says so. A closed pocket zip is not a guarantee of waterproofing.
Can I wash and dry every jacket in the same way?
No, drying instructions in particular differ. BJP Core specifies washing inside out at 30°C and tumble drying on the lowest heat setting. Venum Attack Urban Gi and Urban Guard specify washing at 30°C, no tumble drying, drying flat and no ironing.
Let the MONOLITH cotton shirt air-dry and iron on low heat if needed. Fasten zips before washing and follow the care label on the individual garment; one jacket's instructions do not apply to the whole category.
