Sports bags
Compare BJP, Venum and Joya Gear sports bags and backpacks against the kit you actually carry. Check access to the main compartment, dimensions, straps and separation of wet items. A city backpack, a bag for a full training kit and a waist bag for small essentials serve different needs.

How to choose a training bag
Capacity for your own kit, carrying options, wet items and cleaning.
Should I choose a backpack, a shoulder bag or a convertible bag?
A backpack keeps both hands free while walking or using public transport. A shoulder bag can be convenient in the changing room, with access to the main compartment from above. Check the actual opening and layout of the model.
To switch carrying styles, BJP MONOLITH has built-in backpack straps, and Venum Shockwave Convertible works as both a backpack and a sports bag. Choose a waist bag for your phone, keys and small essentials, rather than a full set of equipment.
How many litres do I need for boxing or MMA?
There is no universal minimum capacity. Lay out your gloves, any headgear and shin guards, shoes, towel, clothing and bottle. Compare not only volume but also the shape of the main compartment and the width of its opening against that kit.
For reference, Venum lists the Challenger Pro Evo as 20–25 litres; the black BJP Tactical holds 45 litres. A larger number does not guarantee that long guards will fit comfortably. Allow extra space if you also pack for the following day.
How does ventilation differ from a wet compartment?
A ventilated section lets air circulate; a compartment with a waterproof lining separates moisture. These are different functions. BJP MONOLITH has a separate wet compartment, while Venum Trainer Lite also uses mesh for ventilation.
Keep a damp towel apart from clean clothing, but unpack everything when you get home and let it dry, including the compartment. No pocket replaces drying gloves and protective equipment outside the bag.
Does durable material mean the bag is waterproof?
No. Abrasion resistance is not waterproofing. Seams, zips and any material treatment also matter. Labels such as polyester, Oxford or MOLLE do not establish that the contents will be protected from rain.
A wet compartment does not make the whole bag waterproof either. If the manufacturer does not explicitly claim that protection, place your phone and other sensitive items in a separate suitable protective pouch.
Can I use a sports bag as cabin luggage?
Yes, if the packed bag meets the size and weight limits for your ticket. The word “sports” or a capacity in litres is not enough.
Before travelling, compare your airline's rules with the external dimensions of the packed bag, including protruding pockets and handles. Do not confuse the dimensions of an empty soft bag with those of the same bag stuffed with equipment.
How should I clean the bag to prevent lingering smells?
After each session, remove damp items, open the pockets and let the bag dry completely. Empty out dirt and wipe soiled areas with a damp cloth; store the bag only once it is dry.
BJP MONOLITH must not go in a washing machine or tumble dryer. Venum Shockwave is marked for spot cleaning only. Follow the care label for other models; adding fragrance to wet equipment in a closed bag does not replace cleaning.
Include your bottle or shaker when checking space. If you are comparing models, send your kit list to info@bjp-store.cz.
