Beanies

The BJP Merino beanie is made from 100% merino wool with a double-layer construction. The black and olive BJP knitted beanies are acrylic. The Peak range, including the children's beanie, contains 43% viscose, 32% acrylic and 25% polyester.

Choose Merino if you want wool; for a wool-free option, look at the acrylic beanies or Peak. How a fabric feels against your forehead is individual, so no material can be guaranteed to feel comfortable for everyone.

One size does not mean a single fit for adults and all children. The Merino and acrylic beanies are listed in one universal size, while the children's BJP Peak is a separate model.

Measure around the head above the eyebrows and ears and compare it with the product's size range, if provided. The children's Peak description does not give a specific age or head circumference range, so do not choose by age alone. If unsure, send us the model name and head measurement.

A folded cuff adds another layer around the forehead and ears. On the Merino beanie, you can unfold it for a longer, looser fit. The acrylic beanies and Peak range combine a folded cuff with ribbed knitting.

When trying it on, pull the beanie over your ears and turn your head: it should not slip over your eyes or ride up above your ears. Folding a tight cuff higher will not solve a poor fit. Thickness or the number of layers alone cannot tell you the lowest temperature at which you will feel comfortable.

The product instructions for these beanies specify washing at up to 30 °C. For Merino, use a wool detergent and the washing method shown on the label; do not wring or scrub the wool. Wash Peak gently, inside out, with similar colours.

Reshape the beanie after washing and dry it flat, away from direct sunlight and radiators. Do not hang the wet knit where its weight can stretch it, and do not tumble dry. Avoid bleach; for Merino and the acrylic beanies, avoid fabric softener too. Always follow the label on the individual item.
