2’-fucosyllactose, or 2’-FL for short, is a fucosylated neutral trisaccharide built from L-fucose, D-galactose and D-glucose units. It occurs naturally in human milk, where it makes up roughly 30% of all oligosaccharides. Researchers first described it in the 1950s.

In this product the 2’-fucosyllactose is produced by fermentation rather than isolated from milk, and it is standardised to a minimum of 94% pure 2’-FL. One plant-based capsule holds 518 mg of the raw material and there are 100 capsules per pack. Made in the Czech Republic.

The powder is fine and virtually tasteless, so you can swallow the capsule whole or open it and stir the contents into water or yoghurt. The product is intended for adults.

Dosage

Start with 1 capsule a day, washed down with water. Up to 10 capsules a day may be taken as needed. You can also open the capsule and stir the contents into a cold or lukewarm drink.
