What makes alpha lipoic acid unusual is that it dissolves in water and in fat alike. Among the substances that end up in food supplements, that combination is the exception rather than the rule. Alpha Lipoic Acid by NutriWorks carries 500 mg of it in one plant based capsule.

The formula adds two trace elements, both landing exactly on 100% of the nutrient reference value: copper at 1 mg as copper gluconate and selenium at 55 µg as sodium selenite. Selenium contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and copper contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system.

The rest of the list is short: maize maltodextrin, a plant based HPMC shell and an anti-caking agent. Made in Finland and Sweden.
