Strike is Joya's flagship and you notice the moment you put one on. The gloves are handmade in Thailand from 100% genuine leather, a material that works a little for the first month and then settles around the hand according to how it is treated. The white version is the same glove as the black one we already stock, in a finish that shows up on photos and training footage.

The wrist is held by the Click System, a hook-and-loop wrap you can tighten one-handed and that does not give mid-round. The padding is multi-layered foam rather than a single block, so the glove damps differently across the knuckles than across the back of the hand.

Joya builds these for professional use, which in practice means they take a daily schedule and do not fall apart after a season. White leather asks more of you in upkeep; factor that in.

Choosing a size

Twelve is for technique, pad work and smaller builds. Fourteen is the usual training choice for most people up to roughly 80 kg. Sixteen belongs in sparring and on heavier fighters, because more foam means more protection for your partner. Add a little room for wraps.

Care and lifespan

Open the gloves after training and dry them outside the bag, ideally with a dryer or at least standing opening down. Wipe the leather with a damp cloth and treat it now and then with a leather product, or it dries out and cracks. White leather picks up bag grime faster than black, so use a clean cloth. Never a washing machine, never direct sun.

Always use the gloves with wraps. Genuine leather gives during the first sessions, so pick the size that fits firmly at the start. Do not use them with a split seam or collapsed padding.
