Kefir Colostrum from Paleo Powders is bovine colostrum, the first milk collected within 24 hours of calving, put through a 48-hour fermentation with live kefir grains. That fermentation is the main difference from ordinary colostrum powder, because it changes the protein structure and lowers the lactose content.
The daily serving is 2 capsules, so a 120-capsule pack lasts 60 days. The capsules need no refrigeration, which makes them easy to carry to work or on a trip. The manufacturer recommends taking them on an empty stomach before a meal.
The colostrum comes from European herds and is fermented with Romanian kefir grains. In practice that means two capsules first thing in the morning, before breakfast, and colostrum is off your mind for the rest of the day. The capsule shell is cellulose, but the colostrum itself is a dairy product.
