The label lists the strains one by one rather than hiding behind a blanket term: Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus reuteri, Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus acidophilus. Lactic Acid Bacteria Worx by NutriWorks holds six of them in one capsule, 5 billion CFU in total, and the whole blend is produced in Finland and Sweden.
CFU stands for colony forming units, the count of viable cells in a serving. Alongside the bacteria the formula carries inulin, a soluble fibre, and 5 mg of zinc as zinc citrate. Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system, and one capsule holds 50% of the nutrient reference value.
The shell is plant based, made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, so the format works for vegans too. You take one or two capsules a day with food, which makes a 90 capsule pack last three months or six and a half weeks depending on the dose.
