Liposomal vitamin C by Dr. Mercola is a food supplement that delivers 1000 mg of vitamin C from a plant source of ascorbic acid in a daily serving of two capsules. Compared with an effervescent powder there is no sour taste and no drink to mix, you simply swallow the capsules with water.
The ascorbic acid is worked into a phospholipid emulsion of sunflower lecithin and MCT oil, which forms liposomes in the stomach. The capsules are made from plant cellulose and the colour comes from reduced paprika extract. One ingredient is worth flagging: the formula contains beeswax, so it is not suitable for vegans.
Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. It also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and increases iron absorption. At two capsules a day, a pack of 60 lasts a month.
