Liposomal vitamin D3 by Dr. Mercola is a food supplement with 125 mcg (5000 IU) of cholecalciferol per capsule. One capsule a week is enough, which makes it a fit for the stretch from autumn through to spring, when sunshine at our latitudes is rationed.
The cholecalciferol is sourced from lanolin, the grease of sheep's wool. Inside the capsule it sits in phospholipids from sunflower lecithin and in MCT oil. Licaps technology seals the contents into a hard capsule and lowers their oxidation potential.
Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to the maintenance of normal bones and to the maintenance of normal muscle function. It also contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus. One capsule covers 2500% of the nutrient reference value, which is why the serving is one capsule a week rather than one a day.
