Medium-chain triglycerides, or MCT fats, occur naturally in coconut, where they are obtained through fractional distillation. They have twice the energy value of carbohydrates, but are used by the body in a different way than classic fats - they are used as fuel for muscles and the brain, but are not stored in tissues. Puhdistamo MCT oil contains 60% caprylic acid (C8) = a source of very fast energy, and 40% capric acid = a source of medium-fast energy + vitality support.
