Bee bread fermented by wild Apis dorsata bees in a national park in sub-Himalayan India. Hand harvested from open nests, packed in violet Miron glass. 50 g to 500 g.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

Wild Ambrosia is perga, fermented bee bread, except it comes from wild bees. It is harvested from the combs of Apis dorsata, the giant honey bee that builds open nests in tree crowns and on cliffs inside a national park in the sub-Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh. No hives, no frames, just hand harvesting from a wild nest.

The mass is flower pollen, honey and the substances the bees themselves work into it, left to ferment naturally in the comb. The flavour is sharper and wilder than perga from kept colonies: sour and fruity with a honeyed undertone. You eat it granule by granule, not by the handful.

Start with one granule rather than a spoonful, because the flavour pulls no punches and it takes a few days to get used to. Only then build the amount up. It is filled into violet Miron glass and you can choose between 50 g, 100 g, 250 g and 500 g.

Key benefits

  • Wild Apis dorsata bees – harvested from open nests, not from hives and frames.
  • Protected area – a national park in the sub-Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Nothing added – only pollen, honey and what the bees put in, with no preservatives.
  • Miron glass – violet biophotonic glass that keeps the light off the contents.
  • Four sizes – 50 g, 100 g, 250 g and 500 g, depending on how much you get through in a month.
  • Fermented in the comb – the fermentation happens in the nest, not in a plant.

How to use

Start with a single granule and build the amount up as it suits you, up to a few teaspoons a day. Let the granules dissolve in your mouth with saliva and do not wash them down, ideally drink nothing for 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after.
