Durian has a reputation as the most divisive fruit on earth. It smells strongly enough that plenty of people will not share a room with it, yet the flesh itself tastes creamy and sweet, somewhere between custard and a ripe banana. Naive has put that half of the fruit into this bar and left the aroma at the door.
The result is a darkmilk chocolate at 61% cocoa solids where durian meets grass fed milk powder. It lands on roasted hazelnut, custard and caramelised banana. Anyone braced for something alarming tends to be surprised at how kind the bar actually is.
Durian belongs to the Equator collection, in which Naive builds each bar solely from ingredients grown in one region near the equator. The durian sweetness arrives on the second wave, so it pays to take your time and let a piece melt slowly.

Naive: bean-to-bar chocolate from Lithuania that treats cacao like wine
Naive is a small Lithuanian chocolate maker with an unusual approach.
