MMA sparring asks one glove to do two jobs: cushion a punch, then open up for a takedown or a grip on the wrist. The Venum Impact Evo MMA Sparring Gloves in Black handle both. Injected foam covers the knuckles with a shape that Venum designed to reduce the risk of stray fingers reaching a partner's eyes.

Inside, a neoprene lining lets sweat evaporate and gives your hand a solid grip when you switch from striking to grappling. Micro-perforations in the shell move air through the glove during long rounds, and the reinforced palm takes the pressure when you post on the mat.

For the outer layer Venum uses 100% Skintex leather, its synthetic leather chosen for wear resistance, and reinforces the seams along the stress lines. Beige stitching traces the anatomical cut of the glove and small beige logos are the only graphics on the black surface. Venum rates them for regular MMA training two to four times a week.

How to use

Use the gloves for MMA sparring, pad rounds and drilling that mixes strikes with grappling. Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles and compare it with the size table on the Venum site; the glove should be snug over hand wraps without pinching the fingers.

Fasten the strap firmly across the wrist. It is the only support the joint gets in an open-finger glove.

Care

Open the gloves wide after training and let the neoprene lining dry fully before the next session. Wipe the Skintex surface with a moist cloth, no solvents. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or leave the gloves in the sun.
