Choosing your first OPRO Bronze mouthguard

Moulding before use, children's sizing and choosing for your training.

Can I use Bronze straight out of the pack?

No, Bronze is a self-fit mouthguard. First heat and mould it according to the instructions for your particular pack, using the supplied fitting handle. Remove the handle after fitting. Do not confuse Bronze with Snap-Fit, which works differently. An adult should handle hot-water fitting for a child's mouthguard.

How should I choose Bronze for a child around ten years old?

The manufacturer distinguishes Junior / Youth for children under 10 and Senior / Adult from age 10, but age is a guide. Check mouth size and fit too. Standard Bronze is not intended for fixed braces; look for an explicitly marked Braces version and discuss the choice with your orthodontist.

Is Bronze suitable for boxing, or must I buy a higher range?

OPRO includes contact sports among Bronze's intended uses. The sport's name alone is not enough to choose: consider the training format, club requirements and correct fit. To compare construction, look at Silver and Gold. A higher range does not replace the right size and careful moulding.

When should Bronze be replaced, and can someone else use it?

A moulded mouthguard is personal equipment for one set of teeth and must not be shared. Replace it if it develops tears or bite holes, or loses its shape and fit. For children, also check the fit as their teeth change. Remoulding does not fix damaged material; replace a damaged guard before further contact training.
