Wear the black Performance Short for a strength or circuit session and to warm up before class, when you want a light stretch fabric and the reassurance that your keys will stay in a zipped pocket. They suit you if you split your time between the weight room and the gym floor and do not want fight shorts for conditioning.

Zipped pockets keep your keys in
The side pockets are zipped, so you will not lose small items even while skipping. The fabric of 92% polyester and 8% elastane is lightweight and slightly stretchy. In a squat or lunge it stretches with you rather than holding you back. The elasticated waistband keeps the shorts in place.
The black base is broken up by red side panels with a chequered pattern that references motorsport, a red UFC logo on one thigh and Venum on the other. The legs end above the knee. The black T-shirt with red graphics from the same collection completes the set.
Choosing your size
Elasticated waist: check the length in a squat
Start from your waist measurement, taken above the hips. The shorts do not have a compression fit, and the legs are looser. When you try them on, they should not pull across your thighs, and the waistband should sit without digging in even after a squat.

How to measure: Measure around your waist just above your hips. Keep the tape level and relaxed without holding in your stomach.
Fit advice: Choose using your waist measurement. The elastic waistband provides some flexibility; the shorts should stay secure as you move without feeling restrictive.
Frequently asked questions
Are these fight shorts for competition?
No. They are training shorts with zipped pockets that Venum makes for every stage of training. For sparring and competition, choose fight shorts without pockets.
How secure is the waistband, and is there a drawstring?
The waistband is elasticated, and Venum lists no drawstring (there is none in the photos either). The elastic alone holds the shorts up, so choose your size by your actual waist measurement.
Do they match another piece in the collection?
Yes. The black short sleeve T-shirt from the same collection has red logos on the chest and red panels on the sleeves, so with the shorts it makes a matching set.
How do I wash them?
Wash at 30°C with the pockets zipped. Do not tumble dry, do not iron and leave them to dry naturally.
