Tights and shorts
Training tights and fitted shorts form a close-fitting layer; loose shorts provide more room around the thighs. Choose by leg length, waistband design and the type of training. For grappling, check the individual model's pockets and fastening too.

How to choose tights and fitted shorts
Spats, tights and Vale Tudo: what the names mean and how to check the fit.
How do spats, tights, Vale Tudo and fight shorts differ?
Spats and tights refer to fitted leggings; check the length of the model. Vale Tudo are fitted shorts with shorter legs. Fight shorts have looser legs and a cut designed for combat sports.
Choose full-length tights if you want to cover your knees and shins too. For a shorter fitted layer, look for Vale Tudo shorts. Our guide to choosing training shorts also explains the differences between loose MMA, Muay Thai and gym shorts.
Should I wear tights on their own or under shorts?
Depending on the model and your gym's rules, either option can work. For example, Venum specifies that its G-Fit Air Spats can also be worn on their own. Under loose shorts, they provide coverage beneath side slits and during ground movements.
Try the whole combination on: the two waistbands should not dig in, and the base layer should not bunch up. Before competing, check which layers your organiser permits; being able to wear tights on their own for training does not mean a competition allows it.
How do I choose the right size of tights?
Measure your waist and hips; for full-length tights, also compare the length using the manufacturer's measuring guide. A chart may list body measurements or garment dimensions; these are not interchangeable. Sizing and leg length vary between brands.
When trying them on, squat, lunge and raise a knee. The waistband should stay in place, the seams should not pull painfully, and the fabric should let you move freely. If there is no chart, email the product link, waist and hip measurements and your height to info@bjp-store.cz.
What if tights slide down or become see-through when I squat?
First ease the fabric up from your ankles over your thighs so the crotch and waistband sit correctly. Then try moving again. If the waist slips or the fabric keeps bunching, the size or cut may not suit your proportions; automatically choosing a smaller size may not solve it.
Check coverage in good light, including when bending forward. Overstretched fabric can become see-through, but the fabric itself also matters. If the coverage does not suit you, consider another cut or loose shorts over the tights. Check both at home before your first training session.
How should I care for tights and compression shorts?
Take them out of your bag after training and follow the individual model's care label. BJP training tights and UFC Fusion Performance Tights specify washing at 30 °C and no tumble drying. Wash BJP inside out, without bleach or fabric softener.
Fasten hook-and-loop closures on other items to prevent snagging; you can wash delicate stretch fabrics separately. Air-dry away from heaters. Make sure the clothing is completely dry before storing or wearing it again.
What if the cut or size I ordered does not fit?
To get another option, return the original item and place a new order. As a consumer, you can notify us of your return within 30 days of receiving the goods. Try clothing on at home as you would in a shop; do not use it for training or wash it before deciding.
See Returns and complaints for the process and conditions. Order the new option separately, subject to current availability.
Wear tights with a rashguard or training jersey. Fitted tights do not automatically require the same size in a top.
