Leggings and shorts for your training
Comparing fabrics, loose and fitted cuts, and checking your size in motion.
When should I choose leggings or loose combat shorts?
Leggings follow the shape of your legs and cover them fully. Venum Contender XT Muay Thai shorts have looser legs and side slits for kicking movements. UFC Zenith Performance Shorts offer another distinct training cut.
Try squatting, lunging and raising your knee. You need room at the crotch and thighs; the same size label will not produce the same fit across these three types of clothing.
How do BJP x ATEX, Women Power and Pulse fabrics differ?
Black/red and blue BJP x ATEX leggings use ESPAN GRIT: 86% polyester, 14% elastane, weighing 240 g/m². Beige and pink Women Power leggings are 82% polyester and 18% elastane. Pulse is 90% nylon and 10% elastane with seamless knitting.
The elastane percentage alone does not tell you which style will feel more compressive. Knit structure, fabric weight and cut also matter. ATEX adds an internal waistband pocket.
Should I size down for more compression?
A smaller size is not a reliable way to get suitable compression. Start with the waist and hip measurements in the model's chart. The knit should fit closely without pulling uncomfortably at the crotch or restricting a squat.
Stretch or compression descriptions do not state a measured compression level. If you fall between sizes, send us the model and your measurements; we do not recommend automatically sizing down.
What should I check to prevent the waist slipping or rolling?
Try several squats, sitting down and bending forward. You should not need to keep pulling the waistband up, and it should not dig in uncomfortably. The leggings must fit your hips as well as your waist.
Remember the Pulse difference: black is mid-rise, while beige and dark blue are high-rise. Rolling alone is not a reason to choose a smaller size; the waistband's height or shape may not suit you.
Can I judge opacity from the fabric composition?
Not from the nylon, polyester or elastane percentage alone. Knit density and how far the fabric stretches on your body matter. Fabric weight is not a guarantee that every size and colour will be opaque.
When trying them on at home over underwear, check the fabric in a deeper squat in daylight. If it becomes noticeably see-through or pulls, compare another size or cut before your first workout.
How should I care for leggings after training?
Do not leave sweaty clothing sealed in your gym bag for long. Wash the BJP leggings listed here inside out at 30 °C with similar colours, without fabric softener or bleach, and air-dry away from direct heat.
Pulse and Women Power should not be ironed or tumble dried. Follow the individual label on Venum shorts, particularly for printed areas. Fabrics, cuts and care instructions can differ between collections.
Choose upper-body support separately in sports bras and tops. Email questions about a particular fit to info@bjp-store.cz.
