Calcium is an essential mineral necessary for bone and tooth health, muscle function, nerve signal transmission, blood clotting, and blood pressure regulation. This product contains a special highly absorbable form of calcium, TriCalcium, which does not require as much gastric juice to be used in the body as other chelated forms of calcium, making it suitable for all people with digestive problems and the elderly. The combination of calcium with vitamin D3 & K2 ensures maximum calcium incorporation into the bones.  Children and adolescents, pregnant and breastfeeding women, the elderly, postmenopausal women, people with digestive problems or vegans, athletes, smokers or people who consume excessive amounts of alcohol have an increased need for calcium.

Product detailed description

Calcium D3 & K2 with the most absorbable form of calcium TriCalcium citrate!

TriCalcium Citrate 21% is an excellent form of calcium with citric acid, which means it does not require as much hydrochloric acid for absorption, which ensures easier absorption. This makes it suitable for older people who tend to have lower levels of hydrochloric acid, but also for anyone who has digestive problems due to a lack of stomach acids. Additionally, TriCalcium Citrate is well tolerated and has a lower risk of causing stomach upset compared to other forms of calcium.

Symptoms of calcium deficiency

Calcium deficiency can manifest itself in various symptoms, such as muscle cramps, weakness, and fatigue. Long-term deficiency can lead to osteoporosis, a condition characterized by fragile and breakable bones. Other manifestations include growth and development problems in children, impaired nervous system function, and an increased risk of heart problems.

What do we need calcium for?

Calcium is an essential mineral that plays a key role in the health of our bones and teeth. It is essential for proper muscle, nerve and blood clotting function. It also contributes to maintaining normal blood pressure , supports heart health, and is involved in the process of cell division, digestive enzyme function , and blood clotting. Without an adequate calcium intake, bones can become weak, leading to an increased risk of fractures.

What contributes to bone decalcification?

  • 1. Excessive sugar consumption : may affect bone mineralization.
  • 2. Phosphoric acid: often present in industrially processed foods.
  • 3. Excessive alcohol consumption and smoking.
  • 4. Lack of physical activity
  • 5. Lack of exercise and movement: can lead to bone loss and muscle weakness, which increases the risk of fractures and osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis

Calcium and bone health

Calcium is key to bone health because it helps strengthen and repair bones. It is the main component that gives strength to bones and helps keep them strong. When the body needs more calcium, hormones ensure that calcium is released from the bones into the blood. However, if the body does not get enough calcium at the same time, bones can weaken and become more brittle, leading to lower bone density and subsequent osteoporosis.

Vitamin K2 MK-7 for best absorption

Vitamin D3 increases calcium absorption in the intestines and promotes the production of osteocalcin. Vitamin K2 then activates osteocalcin, which allows calcium to be deposited into bones, which is important for their strength and health. MK-7 activates the largest proportion of osteocalcin and is the best form of vitamin K2 for the body.

K2 product

The best form of vitamin K2 MK-7!

Vitamin K2 (menaquinone) has several subtypes, among which there are large differences in absorbability. Of the ten forms of menaquinone , MK-4 and MK-7 are the most important for bone health. Compared to others, K2VITAL®DELTA has undergone many studies that have confirmed its high absorbability and stability. Compared to common forms of vitamin K2, which have a half-life of only 1.5 hours, it remains in the body for up to 72 hours! This means it has a 48x longer half-life. It is made with double encapsulation and is thus protected during production and especially in the digestive tract.

What does calcium provide in the body?

  • 1. Bone and teeth health: Calcium is a key element of bone mass and tooth enamel. Its presence is essential for the development, growth and maintenance of bone and tooth strength.
  • 2. Muscle function: It is essential for normal muscle function. It allows muscle fibers to contract, which is the process by which muscles generate force.
  • 3. Nervous system: Calcium is essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system, where it enables the transmission of nerve signals between nerve cells. These signals are key to the body's coordination and response to various stimuli.
  • 4. Blood clotting: In the blood clotting process, calcium plays a crucial role as a cofactor for various enzymes involved in the process that leads to the formation of a blood clot. This is essential for quickly stopping bleeding and healing wounds.
  • 5. Hormonal and enzymatic function: Calcium also affects the secretion of certain hormones and the activation of enzymes that are important for metabolism and other bodily functions.
  • 6. Pressure regulation and other functions: Calcium contributes to the regulation of blood pressure and participates in the function of other minerals and electrolytes.
  • 7. Maintaining pH balance: Calcium can help the body maintain the proper acidity of body fluids, which is important for many biochemical processes.

BrainMax Calcium with Vitamin D3 & K2

For optimal use of calcium in the body , cooperation with vitamins D3 and K2 is important. Vitamin D promotes the absorption of calcium in the intestine, ensuring that the body gets enough of this important mineral. Without enough vitamin D, calcium absorption may be inadequate, leading to low blood calcium levels. Vitamin K2 then plays a key role in the distribution of calcium in the body by helping calcium to settle in bones and teeth, where it is needed, and preventing it from being deposited in soft tissues, such as blood vessels, where it could cause damage (vascular calcification). BrainMax Calcium with vitamin D3 & K2 contains TriCalcium Citrate 21%. It is a highly effective source of calcium because it combines three calcium molecules with citric acid. This ensures excellent bioavailability and absorption in the body.
