Reduces stress, improves sleep quality and helps with hormonal balance

According to 7 studies, ashwagandha may affect mood, anxiety, and help reduce levels of cortisol, a hormone associated with stress. By reducing stress hormones, the herb can help combat symptoms associated with chronic stress and anxiety. Study 8 investigating the effect of ashwagandha on sleep confirmed that due to its mild sedative effects, ashwagandha can promote more restful and better quality sleep. This herb also acts on GABA receptors, which are key components for regulating sleep and relaxation. Improving the body's resistance to stress and fatigue is especially beneficial for people suffering from insomnia or restless sleep, all thanks to its adaptogenic properties. In other studies, 10 results suggest that ashwagandha may be useful for improving reproductive health in healthy women who do not have hormonal disorders, and may contribute to improving overall vitality and well-being.

Increase strength, performance, improve libido and sperm quality

Study 1 showed that ashwagandha can improve muscle strength and performance in men. Research involving men who took ashwagandha showed improvements in weightlifting performance and muscle mass growth. Further research has been shown to have a positive effect on sperm quality in men, especially those with low sperm counts (oligospermia). Research has shown that ashwagandha supplementation can significantly improve sperm count, motility, and overall quality. One pilot study examined the effects of ashwagandha on men with oligospermia. Study participants took 675 mg of ashwagandha (almost one capsule) daily in three doses for 90 days. The results showed a 167% increase in sperm count, a 53% increase in semen volume, and a 57% increase in sperm motility. This increase was minimal in the placebo group. Other research 9 confirms that ashwagandha may be beneficial for male reproductive health, as it can improve libido and reproductive function.

How do adaptogens work?

Ashwagandha, as an adaptogen, is known for its ability to help increase strength, endurance , and optimize hormones. . Adaptogens help increase stress resistance and reduce anxiety by preventing the release of stress hormones (CRH -> cortisol). In other words, they help reduce your body's need to produce stress hormones in response to stress. This prevents adrenal exhaustion and other negative effects associated with the impacts of stress, such as: anxiety, hormonal imbalance, loss of libido or thyroid problems.
