Arctic Blue: cod oil from the coldest, cleanest fisheries
Arctic Blue is a Dutch omega-3 specialist that sources its oil from wild cod caught in the Norwegian, Barents and Bering Seas, all from MSC-certified sustainable fisheries. The oil is processed with minimal oxidation, which is why it has none of the fishy taste or smell people expect from cod liver oil. The company was founded by Ludo van de Wiel, a Wageningen University graduate who has spent his career working with fish oils. His brief for Arctic Blue was simple to say and hard to do: a super-premium oil from the cleanest water available, with a mild taste and a first-class fatty acid profile in the same bottle.
Beyond oils and capsules, Arctic Blue makes an omega-3 jelly from MSC-certified Norwegian cod, which won the Nutra Awards prize for the best sustainability initiative of 2024.
