Nordbo Double Sun contains Red Orange Complex TM red orange extract and beta-carotene from the microalgae Dunaliella salina. The effects of these substances are related to protection against excessive sunlight and skin condition. Beta-carotene can protect against damage from UV radiation. Part of it is converted into vitamin A and part is stored in the skin, where it helps to tan longer and more gently - the skin is more resistant to burning and drying. Blood orange extract contains antioxidants called anthocyanins, flavonoids, and vitamin C. All of these substances have properties related to oxidative stress caused by excessive exposure to sunlight.
Red Orange Complex TM
Red Orange Complex TM is extract from three types of Sicilian red orange - Moro, Tarocco and Sanguinello. These grow near Etna, Europe's most active volcano. In this area, there is an unusually high difference between day and night temperatures, which is very favorable for the nutritional value of blood oranges. The large difference between heat and cold increases the content of natural dyes (pigment) and antioxidant content. Orange extract has a significant regenerative effect and was specially developed to reduce damage from UV radiation. Helps against redness, rash and hyperpigmentation. Excessive exposure to UV radiation causes increased oxidative stress leading to premature skin aging.
Red Orange Complex TM has been tested in several studies with good results. In one study, 25 people took 100 mg of the extract for 15 days, and in such a short period of time, sun-induced rashes and redness were reduced by 40%.
Beta-carotene
An antioxidant that is a precursor to vitamin A. The body converts it into this vitamin on its own, but only in the necessary amount. The rest passes through the bloodstream and is stored in fatty tissues. The subcutaneous fat is then saturated with orange-brown beta-carotene and the skin acquires its typical pigmentation. This process also reduces the risk of sunburn or eczema caused by the sun. Beta-carotene is fat-soluble and its absorption improves when consumed with a small amount of fat - that is why Double sun contains MCT fats obtained from coconut. Beta-carotene itself is obtained from the algae Dunaliella Salina (although it is an algae, it has a bright pink color) growing in very extreme conditions - for example, in salt mines in Antarctica. The harsh environment contributes to its ability to produce large amounts of carotene.
