In common supplements, it is found, for example, in the form of oxide. This form is of little use to the body, and the reason it is used in common supplements is again its low price. In combination with water and soap, it forms an insoluble substance, which forms, for example, typical non-removable rings on bathtubs. Shellac is a resin secreted by the female lacquer worm, an insect living in India. Sheets of this resin dissolve in ethyl alcohol to form liquid shellac, which is used as a varnish and glaze. These substances are commonly used in dietary supplements, medicines, and foods. You won't find them in Viridian supplements.
