Phosphatidylserine is a unique substance that occurs naturally in each of the approximately 37 billion human cells. It is part of the phospholipid bilayer of cell membranes, in which a key role in cell structure and function. The highest concentrations of phosphatidylserine are present in nerve cells (neurons), where it plays a vital role in supporting their integrity and function. . Phosphatidylserine is essential for proper the interaction of cells with the surrounding environment and for various processes such as the transport of substances across the membrane and its flexibility.

Phosphatidylserine: A key "communicator" for effective cell functioning

Phosphatidylserine is not an unknown substance to the brain, as brain and nerve tissues contain very high levels of phosphatidylserine. You can think of phosphatidylserine as a "communicator" between cells - it helps them transmit signals efficiently and maintain a stable environment for their proper function. This phospholipid affects the activity of neurotransmitters and their receptors and facilitates the spread of brain impulses.

Phosphatidylserine from sunflower lecithin

When producing BrainMax Phosphatidylserine, we avoided using soy, which is mostly genetically modified to increase yield and resistance, making it specific for certain conditions, but also increasing the risk of allergic reactions. Instead, we chose sunflower, where each capsule contains 100 mg of phosphatidylserine.
