Organic MCT Oil C8 & C10 comes from 100% organic coconut and is certified organic by the Soil Association. Once the coconuts are harvested, they undergo a gentle process of steam distillation. This process extracts MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides), which have beneficial properties related to many areas in the body. MCT fatty acids are metabolized differently in the body than LCT (long-chain). They do not require protein binding and are therefore preferred by the body as a primary energy source. This means they are metabolized faster and are not stored as fat. Therefore, they can be used especially in weight loss diets. Viridian MCT oil consists of four triglycerides - C6 (caproic acid), C8 (caprylic acid), C10 (capric acid) and C12 (lauric acid).
