Pure marine collagen is made from wild-caught cod and is hydrolyzed into small collagen peptides. They have a molecular weight of only 3 kDA (kilodaltons), so they are optimally absorbed and utilized by the body. In addition, marine collagen is absorbed by the body up to 1.5 times more efficiently than collagen from mammals. Collagen peptides are extracted using gentle enzymatic hydrolysis.

Arctic Blue pure marine collagen is made from cod skin from cod living wild in the Norwegian and Barents Seas (Seagarden Norway). In addition, cod migrate every winter between the Barents Sea, where they grow up, and the Norwegian Sea, where they reproduce. They are thus in motion and gain solid, clean muscle mass with perfect structure and quality. Arctic Blue collagen does not come from cod living in artificial reservoirs.

Collagen is a natural part of the body

It is a protein found in connective tissue and skin, and is a significant part of joints and tendons. Skin is composed of 80% type I collagen and approximately
