KORU RAW Manuka, MGO 300+, 250 g
Product detailed description
KORU - the highest quality of genuine raw manuka honey on the market. Packed in glass, raw , native and certified by the New Zealand government with MGO from 300+ to an incredible 1500+ which are unquestionable and guaranteed values thanks to the native raw quality.
Raw Manuka is a potion of natural medicine, which, with its huge MGO content (about 100 or more times higher than all other types of honey), exhibits a specific effect unique to it. It should be taken as a rare and valuable dietary supplement and preventive measure in a dose of approximately 1 teaspoon per day, rather than as a sweetener or classic honey in recipes.
Because not all Manuka honey is created equal, KORU tests each batch individually in an independent laboratory certified by the NZ government for maximum consumer protection and the impossibility of improper handling of the honey to artificially increase MGO. After a longer study of the issues and controversy surrounding Manuka honey and its price, I have gained deeper insight, based on which I recommend that consumers only consider the most essential things when it comes to Manuka honey:
- RAW (unpasteurized, unrefined, native) quality - must be a given for premium Manuka, otherwise none of the listed factors and their values are meaningful (as they can be artificially manipulated by heat and refining and/or are not guaranteed by the government and independent testing).
- GLASS PACKAGING - only the best Manuka honeys of the highest quality can afford to be packaged in glass. The main reason why only 2 or 3 brands in the world store their premium Manuka in glass containers is simply price and complexity. Since authentic and certified Manuka honey must be packaged exclusively in New Zealand and not in Europe, the entire process is controlled solely by the New Zealand government, which imposes strict quarantine and strict rules for the quality and authenticity of the honey. Packaging in jars is very expensive and disadvantageous in such circumstances, both because of handling during transport, but mainly because all jars are imported and New Zealand is a very remote country. Quality glass is also expensive in itself, which is why only the best brands with superior quality to everything else on the Manuka market are packaged in it.
- MONO-floral not multi (only Manuka, unmixed)
- NZ Government CERTIFICATION + independent laboratory testing
- VALUES of Methylglyoxal (MGO designation) + possible UMF with certification
- PRICE - genuine and strong, certified raw Manuka honey cannot be cheap, because its collection, which only lasts a few weeks a year, requires sophisticated planning and craftsmanship, and subsequent packaging, certification and testing must be completely carried out in New Zealand under the supervision of the government and independent laboratories.
Manuka used to be our secret in New Zealand - used by the Maori for centuries. KORU is one of the most important symbols of New Zealand and its Maori heritage. KORU is a spiral shape, based on the leaf of the prized New Zealand native silver fern, embodying natural strength, beauty, growth, rebirth and peace.
Raw Manuka honey contains over 200 compounds and is a great source of enzymes, probiotics, minerals, trace elements and powerful antioxidants, many times higher than in other honeys.
KORU's main goal is to provide the most demanding consumers and passionate honey lovers with authentic and rare mono-floral Manuka honey from the most pristine and remote areas of New Zealand. The hives and our beekeepers are scattered across remote corners of New Zealand, harvesting raw honey using traditional artisanal beekeeping methods.
In our designated wild and remote areas, the hives can only be reached by helicopter into our dense wild Manuka bush habitats. Our extraction and packaging facility uses the latest technology for honey processing and packaging and is also certified by the Risk Management Program, Department of Primary Industries, New Zealand Government (RMP Code NZHF1). Our facility is also certified under the RMP quality system, which is the most stringent honey quality accreditation in New Zealand.
An excellent product deserves an equally excellent presentation. To further cement the premium reputation of KORU products, they have carefully designed designer packaging, based on professional photographs of New Zealand's most beautiful natural sites and features, over many months, that is both striking as a luxurious gift and a protective shield against the damaging effects of natural light on the honey. The luxurious KORU branded glass jar is securely packaged in a hardened, high-quality box to ensure this treasure is safe. Uncompromising content quality and sophisticated packaging design are hallmarks of who we are.

Native to New Zealand, the Manuka tree (leptospermum scoparium) grows along the dry eastern coasts of the North and South Islands and blooms only once a year for a few short weeks. This is where the dozens of benefits of Manuka find their origin. NZ government standards for honey define two types of Manuka honey: Monofloral Manuka honey and Multifloral Manuka honey. Always look for the label Monofloral Manuka honey, because Multifloral Manuka honey is a blend of several local honeys with a very low MGO content, possibly using some kind of proprietary (unproven and inauthentic) label. The authenticity of Manuka products is certified by the MPI (Ministry of Primary Industries) only for honey packaged in New Zealand, as it undergoes rigorous oversight and testing (including DNA testing), from the point of collection in the wild bush to packaging and export documentation. Thanks to this precise regulation, all the benefits of Manuka are thoroughly scientifically proven and the creation process is traceable.
KORU uses exclusively 100% RECYCLABLE GLASS CONTAINERS.
Whether you enjoy this unique honey while drinking, in cold recipes, or straight from the spoon - Raw Manuka honey is one of the most interesting superfoods of bee alchemy you'll ever find. They vary in color and flavor, viscosity and texture depending on the season and strength values (MGO). Quality KORU Manuka honey also has a different texture and consistency than other honeys and large differences between its MGO grades! It thickens regardless of temperature. This gives Manuka honey a lasting jelly-like appearance. Delicious, smooth and strong! Regular daily consumption of Manuka honey should be at least 1 teaspoon per day as a ritual routine supporting a healthy lifestyle and prevention. The higher the MGO rating, the more effective and faster the benefits.
True RAW unpasteurized and unrefined Manuka honey is a home "pharmacy" of a different category than you would expect from the already highly valued unpasteurized honey (of any kind). The taste of premium Manuka cannot be compared to anything I have tried so far, honeys of course cannot be labeled as medicinal according to legislation (although the very long history of honey use speaks for itself), but its incredibly penetrating taste, which I can describe here - truly resembles a strong "medicine".
Nowadays, when immunity is paramount and people are trying to take more and more care of their health, we often resort to natural ways, quality dietary supplements, vitamins and "super" foods that would provide us with a preventive protective hand and supportive properties for our organism in all circumstances. I am known for highly promoting and using pure and raw bee products of the highest quality and purity in my practice.
Manuka honey is truly a unique product, and even though I have been specializing in bee alchemy for 10 years, I have only stocked two on the website so far. KORU is the third and highest level (as they say: the third is the best) of manuka in my offer. After lengthy nuances and contract processes, I am now the exclusive distributor of KORU for the Czech Republic/Slovakia and, along with exclusive sellers in premium gourmet boutiques and shopping malls such as Harrods, Frankfurter Airport, Italy's GranGustoSpa, Saudi Arabia, etc., one of the few official sellers in the world.
There is no point in subjectively highlighting Manuka honey because everyone should assess its effect, strength, and taste individually for themselves. For me, this, along with bee pollen (Ambrosia), royal jelly, and raw herbal honeys, is one of the most powerful parts of a home natural pharmacy that a person can have at home for every situation. The properties of Manuka honey are so well known and proven that it is easy to find them in literature or on the web. Unfortunately, I cannot list them directly here. The information background of the content composition, product certification and my review/description will only be a springboard for your further research.

KORU RAW Manuka Honeys are pure, potent, premium elixirs in a jar that
offer huge benefits due to their high concentration of Methylglyoxal (MGO) -
an essential complex enzyme contained in the Manuka plant, which is found in New Zealand.
Modern science has found that Manuka honey is extremely effective. This premium Manuka honey is harvested, tested, packaged and certified in New Zealand to guarantee the highest quality and authenticity of all its claims!!
What is Manuka?
The indigenous people of New Zealand called manuka an evergreen shrub with white or pink flowers. Its Czech name is broomrape (Latin: Leptospermum scoparium), it is a relative of the well-known tea tree and although it is now widespread as an ornamental plant throughout the world, it thrives best in mountainous landscapes in New Zealand and Australia. It is from these beautiful flowers that bees collect extraordinary nectar full of valuable substances rich in essential oils, which is transformed into delicious honey. And not an ordinary one...
Where is this honey from?
Manuka honeys commonly come from New Zealand. So is this one.
But what makes Manuka honey so special and why is it so expensive?
Honey has been considered liquid gold since ancient times. Manuka honey is also characterized by significant disinfectant effects, the antibacterial activity of methylgyloxal, a strong spicy flavor, and many unique valuable substances. On average, certified Manuka honeys are the most expensive honeys on the world market because their collection, which only lasts a few weeks a year, requires sophisticated planning and craftsmanship, and subsequent packaging, certification, and testing must be completely done in New Zealand under the supervision of the government and independent laboratories.
It is recommended to take honey directly in small spoonfuls, and/or mix in a drink, but it should never be hot, otherwise you would lose the valuable active ingredients that you pay for with Manuka. I recommend eating honey directly from a spoon (not a metal one) or combining it with Ambrosia.
And what is the MGO or UMF® factor?
Methylglyoxal - or MGO is a naturally occurring complex organic compound found in very high concentrations in authentic Manuka honey (can be up to 100 times higher than in all other honeys). Test results are measured in mg/kg, and the concentration of MGO directly correlates with the health and wellness benefits of Manuka honey. The MGO value indicates the amount of methylglyoxal (MGO) in honey. This is a fairly common value that is used by many manufacturers. However, the quality of honey cannot be determined solely on the basis of the MGO factor, as it is very easily manipulated, either by feeding bees a mixture containing DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) or by mixing different doses of honey. The MGO value also responds to heating and refining of honey by increasing it. Of course, end consumers are not normally informed about this. Therefore, if you buy MGO labeled MANUKA Honey, it is very important that it is certified and labeled as RAW honey - that is, raw and unmodified, unrefined. Then it is truly TOP quality Manuka honey, where MGO can be trusted.
Another widely used value is UMF®. This describes non-peroxide activity. It is calculated from the values of DHA (precursor to MGO), MGO and leptosperin (a substance found only in manuka). When calculating the UMF value, it is not taken into account whether the MGO or DHA value was achieved naturally. Therefore, the key factor in RAW honey quality and native composition is again.
The Maori, the original Polynesian people of New Zealand, are well aware of the exceptional properties of this honey. I recommend looking up historical information and documented cultural use of Manuka Maori.
There's no point in starting over again about the incredible nature of bees, because we'll probably never fully understand their alchemy, just like we'll never fully understand their existence or our own. Not only have bees been around longer than us, but their life and existence, from a certain perspective, is ahead of us in almost everything - especially natural coexistence, their own harmony, support and indispensability for all living things. All bee products are actually a mysterious natural alchemy, and I personally consider them one of the greatest gifts to humanity in terms of nutrients. Gram for gram and in terms of composition synergy, in my opinion, there are no more perfect foods on planet earth than the final products of the work of incredible bees - whether it's honey, ambrosia (bee "bread"/pollen) or royal jelly, but also other ingredients... It is known that if all the world's top scientists and the best laboratories of humanity tried together to produce the truly best and most perfect dietary supplements for human health - only something similar to bee products would be created. However, modern man still cannot see into the original ones, he is not able to create even basic honey and large quantities of substances and part of the content in Ambrosia (fermented bee pollen) or Royal Jelly have not yet been discovered - nor named - nor properly understood. (It is very similar with human breast milk)
Honey should always be properly appreciated and eaten in modest doses! It corresponds perfectly with my idea of rich modesty (getting a lot from a little). I don't know why we even consume sugar or any man-made sugar product when we have honey from bees! Two bees work their entire lives on just one teaspoon of honey! Five hundred of them are needed to make one kilogram!
Bees from one hive visit over 225,000 flowers per day. Bees never sleep.
A bee visits 800 flowers per hour, with a heavy brood, it will bring about 40 mg of honey from one flight, for 1 gram of honey it must visit 7,000 flowers, so the life's work of 1 bee is half a teaspoon of honey, for 1 kg of honey the bees will fly 280,000 km, i.e. 7 times around the equator!
Tips from our beekeepers:
Honey is best taken on an empty stomach, never with a hot drink, preferably with a lukewarm one. Mix a teaspoon of pure Manuka honey into lukewarm water or milk and drink.
The MGO factor is defined as the methylglyoxal factor. Methylglyoxal is produced during the breakdown of glucose. MGP (Methylglyoxal) is also produced when honey is heated, so the higher the MGO value, the more likely it is that the honey has been heated. However, if it is RAW labeled honey, the MGO value is indeed highly relevant, which you will immediately recognize from the taste.
This Manuka honey is not heated in any way and is protected from temperatures and refining. At the same time, when obtaining honey, ecological and ethical considerations for bee colonies are taken into account and they are treated according to the principles of organic farming. For example, bees are left with enough honey so that they do not have to be fed sugar. Bees are also treated only naturally, for example with thyme oil.
Caution is needed for people sensitive to bee products.
After opening, store in a dry and cool place.
